GRAY COUNTY CLERK

CERTIFIED COPIES OF BIRTH & DEATH RECORDS
Under Texas state law birth and death records are confidential and can only be obtained by qualified applicants.
A qualified applicant can obtain a certified copy of a birth or death record in person or by mail. The application must be accompanied with an accepted form of identification and the appropriate fees. Any Texas birth certificate may be purchased in Gray County. Our office uses a remote access system to obtain the State's records dating at this time, from 1926 to present. These records are referred to as Abstract or Short Form copies. Not all agencies accept these forms.

Births occurring in Gray County will be issued a Long Form. This form should be accepted by all government entities. Our death records date from the 1900s to present. We can only issue death records from Gray County.
